Jeans are one of the most popular types of trousers in Western culture. Video commercials help fashion designers effectively showcase the experience of their product.
Mavi is a Turkish brand of denim and jeans-wear founded in 1991, based in Istanbul, Turkey. The company manufactures jeans for both women and men, targeting a younger age group.
Our project was a “two for one” gig. We flew to New York City to record a testimonial video of one of ROI Revolution’s (digital marketing company) clients, Mavi Jeans. At the same time, we were to produce a video commercial for Mavi Jeans called “fall denim trends”. Inspired by another jeans maker, we developed the concept of a “three look,” with a female model showcasing 3 different looks and apparels.
With our location and talent (our model) already secured and ready, we approached the production in the same way the finished video does: One outfit at a time. Using a combination of steadicam and handheld camera work, we were able to achieve images that captured the young and modern feel Mavi was after.
In post-production, we opted for simpler, unobtrusive graphics that wouldn’t distract from the visuals. This allowed the viewer’s attention to focus on the details of the outfits. In combination with a catchy music track that helped inform the pace of the editing, the final product was concise, energetic and visually appealing.
